Other File Formats»
Besides font file formats, FontLab can import and export the following other file formats:
Artwork File Formats»
Artwork here refers to files containing outline or bitmap images, perhaps created by a scan, or from apps such as Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop. FontLab can import drawings in AI, EPS, SVG outline formats, and bitmap images in virtually any bitmap format including GIF, TIFF, JPEG, BMP, PNG, SVG, TGA, etc. Please see Importing Artwork for more details.
FontLab can also export window contents in SVG and PDF formats through Export > Window Contents….
Font Metadata Formats»
Font Metadata formats refers to formats that store information about fonts, but not glyph outlines. These can be used to copy font data from one font (or app) to another. The two font metadata formats supported by FontLab are:
- Font metrics (widths and kerning) in AFM format
- OpenType layout features in FEA file format
To learn more about importing and exporting metrics and features in FontLab, see Importing and Exporting Metrics and Features panel.
