Font Info and Dimensions

Review font metadata and adjust the metrics that shape text layout.

Show the panel with Window > Show Font Info Panel.

Names

The Names section edits family, style, full, PostScript, styling-group, style
link, Weight, Width, and Slope information. See
Names and Styling.

Dimensions

The Dimensions section shows Units Per eM (UPM) and lets you edit:

• Ascender
• Descender
• Line Gap
• Caps Height
• x Height
• Italic Angle
• Caret Offset

UPM is displayed for reference in the current interface; it is not an editable
field.

The update buttons calculate values from the current font for ascender,
descender, line gap, cap height, x-height, italic angle, and caret offset.
Automatic values are a starting point—review them against the family's
vertical-metrics policy before export.

When several targets are selected, entering a value applies it to all of them.
Changes to ascender, descender, and line gap refresh the preview's line
layout.

Credits and Licensing

This section displays or edits vendor, copyright, version, trademark,
designer, license, and description data. URL buttons open vendor, designer, or
license links when the selected targets provide them.

Editing license text does not change the legal rights granted by the font's
actual license.

Source

The Source section shows the originating file and can reveal it in Finder or
File Explorer. When supported, Open With offers associated applications.
